I'm going to start with the computer animation. My favorite scene in this film was the plane crash scene, it features a very realistic computer animated plane crash in a field next to the highway where Nicolas Cage is held up in traffic. After the plane crash, the rubble bursts into flames and in one shot, the camera follows Nic running up the field towards the wreckage. On his way, he encounters people on fire, bodies burning and people screaming. He attempts to help people but he is brushed aside by the emergancy services. This particular scene is a prime example of a dramatically awesome part of the film.
The story line was weak, it started with Nicolas cage discovering that this peice of paper full of numbers was a map of dates and coordinates of world diasasters. He decodes all of the numbers and finds out that all of the diasasters have already happend apart from 3. The 1'st is the plane crash, the 2nd he follows the coordinates and nearly gets killed by a train and the 3rd is... well... its Click me to view spoiler
So thats pretty much it, apart from a few certain matters we must take into account.
1: These random pebbles keep turning up for no bloody reason, pebble on the floor, pebble given to Nic's son by these random guys, pebble on top of a pay phone, 4 pebbles under a bed and not to mention a large area covered with pebbles at the end of the film. Whenever someone picks one up or holds one, it seems to make "The whisper people" talk to Nic's son (see below)
2: The whisper people? These random guys keep showing up and approaching the children. I would love to know in what link do they have with this page of numbers? How do they know where the kids are at all times, and.. well, you need to see the film, but at the end, you end up just asking yourself "why??"
So, what has so far been an "OK" film, they have to completely ruin it by involving aliens and space ships at the end.
Thats me out.
